The Newark Violence Reduction Initiative focuses on the small number of lawbreakers responsible for most of the City of Newark’s violent crimes. A groundbreaking collaborative of local, state, and federal law enforcement, county and federal prosecutors has joined forces with community leaders, social service providers, and city officials to address local drug markets and street violence in the city. Schumann provides support for social services for high-risk individuals who agree to participate in the initiative.
