Jared Boone is Program Partner at the Schumann Fund for New Jersey. In this role, he advances the Fund’s mission to empower low-income children, families, and communities of color to thrive in Essex County and across New Jersey. Jared works closely with grantee and community partners, guides the grantmaking process with care and collaboration, and contributes to strategic collaborations and communications that advance the Fund’s work across priority areas such as early childhood, education, and youth justice.

A proud Newark native, Jared began his philanthropic career as a high school student at St. Benedict’s Prep, assisting in the school’s $8 million capital campaign. Returning later as an educator and administrator, he led nationally recognized leadership programs, taught History, and developed student support systems addressing critical academic, social, and emotional needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. His passion for youth development extended to his role as Program Director at the Bridge Golf Foundation in Harlem, where he designed mentorship and career development programs for young men of color.

Jared holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross. In 2019, he was selected by the Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance to participate in MBKRising!, an inaugural convening that brought together national leaders committed to dismantling barriers that too often leave young men of color at a disadvantage. He is also a graduate of the New Leaders Council – NJ, where he joined a diverse cohort of changemakers working across sectors to expand equity, strengthen local leadership, and drive systemic change in their communities.
