Rhonda Robinson is the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management at Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey. She designs relevant strategies to assess, report, and mitigate risks across the organization. Rhonda has been in the health insurance industry for over 25 years holding numerous leadership positions at Horizon and other health plans in risk, vendor, program, and process management. She has also held various roles in medical cost containment, operations, and payment integrity. Rhonda began her career at Horizon in September of 1995, in a customer service role. That role enabled Rhonda to immediately understand how health insurance companies help people facing the most challenging times of their lives. With this experience, Rhonda was able to develop an appreciation for making healthcare affordable, accessible, easy to understand, and reliable. This has inspired Rhonda to stay committed to the industry for so many years.

Rhonda received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and her master’s degree in health care administration from Seton Hall University. Rhonda is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she volunteers her time on community service and social action activities.

Born, raised, and still a resident of Montclair, Rhonda is active in the community. She has volunteered with the Parent Teacher Association, Juvenile Conference Committee, Montclair Pop Warner, the Montclair High School track team, football and crew booster clubs, as well as Sister to Sister, a mentoring program for preteen/teen girls in Montclair. Rhonda is married to her husband, Gary, and they have three children. Their son is a recent college graduate and works for an ABC affiliate in Kearny, Nebraska. Their middle daughter is a rising junior at St. John’s University. Their youngest daughter is a rising junior and athlete at Montclair High School.
